Soho’s more culinary canines were out in all their glossy-coated finery for last week’s launch of Ciao Chow – London’s first ever pop-up canine bakery.
With the rich aroma of home baked treats like ‘Peanut Pup’ – a gloriously nutty biscotti bite and ‘Make Mine Mint’, a canine homage to an After Eight, wafting down Frith street, it wasn’t long before we were knee-deep in dog drool at the launch of Ciao Chow Canine bakery in Soho.
Launched by fellow lovers of all things doggy and design, Piper Skillman and Mark Watty dreamt up Ciao Chow for London’s many hip humans and their hounds. Somewhere between Palermo and Little Italy, the bark-ery has the cool feel of a retro Italian pasticerria with its bold monochrome interior, and no longer will posh pooches be left outside in the cold, while their owners guzzle back butterscotch lattes indoors.
Ciao Chow’s menu of health-conscious home made dog treats have got something for every canine craving. George wasted no time in sampling the doggy delights including Yummy Tummy, packed with pumpkin, oats and a light dusting of cinnamon to aid digestion, and Formaggio e Aglio, a decadent Italian-inspired pup treat to make mama howl with approval.
You can take your hungry pup to nosh down some tasty treats and check out Ciao Chow’s collection of cool lifestyle accessories for pooches and people at the Ciao Chow doggy bakery, until the 20th September at 23 Frith Street, Soho, W1D 4RT, or online at www.ciaochowcanine.com
